Why Knowing Your Trauma and Triggers Isn't Enough to Heal Them

When I First Started Inner Work
When I first started doing inner work, I began to discover a lot of the underlying causes of my dissatisfaction and my triggers. During hypnotherapy, I went back to the times where certain patterns were installed in me, and certain beliefs shaped the rest of my life.
Knowing all of this alone did not help release the patterns that keep getting triggered. In every argument, In every circumstance that activates the part of me that was hurt.
Trauma Lives in the Body
Soon I realized that trauma is stored in the nervous system. Our body operates differently from our mind. Knowing something is wrong does not prevent the body from reacting a certain way. because it feels threatened and because it's in survival mode, it will keep going back to the same survival strategy.
When the body perceives something ordinary as a threat, it's because it reminds it of past trauma. And in that moment, it acts as if it's still that little girl or little boy who did not feel safe. The body doesn't know it's not living in that time anymore.
What the Body Needs to Learn
The body needs to learn that safety is now available.
It needs to learn that there is a new person, full of love and compassion, who is now taking care of it and protecting it. But for the body to understand that, it needs to separate from the past. From the time it was in the hands of caregivers who did not know how to keep it safe.
This is only possible through deep subconscious work. And sometimes, knowing where the pattern originated is not as important as teaching the body to feel grounded, relaxed, calm, and safe in the present moment.
Getting the Mind and Body on the Same Page
How do we get the mind and the body on the same page about safety and belonging?
This is the work I'm deeply passionate about. Learning how to reprogram the mind and body to believe in the power of the now. To know that I am in charge of mothering myself. My inner selves. The parts of me that were hurt.

Holding the Parts That Didn't Get the Love They Deserved
It's about learning how to hold the parts of us that didn't get the love they deserved. Teaching them that it's okay to be mad. It's okay to be sad. And that we are there with them. We hold them. We don't try to get rid of them.
Embodiment, Authenticity, Living as your true self is not about perfection. It's not about getting rid of the parts that aren't at their highest vibration. It's about holding them. Accepting the dark and the light within you. And constantly reminding and reprogramming the mind and body to know that it's safe to be free, to be soft, to be seen, and to be heard.
This Is the Work I Do
In my practice, Lion Moon Healing, I hold space through Quantum healing hypnotherapy, Reiki energy healing, and intuitive Tarot readings. Allowing individuals to feel safe enough to see the parts of themselves that are ready to be seen, and release the fears that are ready to be let go of, so they can start operating and creating from their authentic, fearless self.
